The chill of the day intensifies as evening approaches, the leaves fall like raindrops covering the ground with the red and yellow of their last breath. The trees stand tall, as they are stripped naked leaf by leaf, ready to bring on another spring when the time is right……..all they can do now is stand in istiqamah and brave the winds and the storms…
While I enter the house to seek refuge from the chill of the rapidly approaching night, far away in my neighborhood (electronic neighborhood) a bomb falls and then another and then another, I wonder if my friends and their families have been hit.
M is in Sweden going to school, his camera stolen by the Egyptian border guards, his work stifled and enclosed in an open air prison of Gaza, his photos and videos miffed by the American media spewing out hate against the Palestinians of Gaza. He too I think is standing in front of the TV and watching the last vestiges of life as he knew it in Gaza crumble and die.
I pause for a moment in the Doctors lounge where I have stopped enroute to see patients. Here FOX News is blaring how the Palestinians from Gaza are attacking Tel Aviv, I look for the remote control to change the channel but it is nowhere to be found, the doctors are now being force fed FOX News whether they want to or not. There is a newsbreak a famous general from the US has a breaking sex scandal… I think about M’s family his sisters and his mother running like cornered rabbits in a small town with nothing much in the form of earning capabilities, growing capabilities and not much to look forward to.
How and why has all this come about? As I understand it comes from an oath taken by the members of a Zionist entity to clear the land of Palestine of Palestinians and to make it so difficult for them to live there that they would beg to leave. Thus is the purpose of the blockade on Gaza, deliberately starving the babies and children by banning all formula and milk from outside to enter Gaza.
I stand a moment longer in the Doctors lounge watching the missiles fired by Israel hitting the small shabby houses of the Palestinians and setting them aflame…….and the Fox news commentator says ..”Well that is what happens when the Gazans fire on Tel Aviv”. Little does he know that it is one more step towards the completion of a grand plan devised by an unknown journalist turned politician named Hertzl*** who inspired the Zionistic inclined Jews with the idea of moving into Palestine and moving the Palestinians out of Palestine, a manifesto that has been religiously followed by the Zionists to date.
Step by step the family system, peace and harmony, the continuity and traditions passed by one generation to the next are being decimated. Large chunks of human beings are being violently removed from their homes, their methods of earning an honorable living forcibly destroyed and they themselves are being strewn all over the world like the leftovers from a dish that has been eaten and enjoyed by others.
I walk through the corridor of the hospital towards the exit and see a grown man sobbing and an old woman (his mother) comforting him, I stop to reassure them and find out that his father is in surgery………..I wonder if he knows of all those fathers in Gaza whose sons are going to be deprived of their love, affection and protection or does he know that the missiles being shot into Gaza destroying M’s home and killing his family this minute are being done so with the blessings and money of the American people? He thanks me for my reassurance and I leave mother and son to comfort each other.
Heart heavy I leave the hospital and watch the trees let go of their leaves gracefully as if they are saying:
Inna lil lahi wa inna elayhe rajaeown” We come from Allah and we are certain to return to him…………..Each one of us is His amanah a trust that He gave to our parents and to us in the form of our children and yet some of us are robbing that trust and hurting the trustees……….Do they think that they will get away with it?
Allah Subhanawataala is also watching the missiles falling into Gaza, as is the silent Muslim world, which is paralyzed by fear of the aggressor, and Allah says to us:
وَلَا تَحْسَبَنَّ اللَّـهَ غَافِلًا عَمَّا يَعْمَلُ الظَّالِمُونَ ۚ إِنَّمَا يُؤَخِّرُهُمْ لِيَوْمٍ تَشْخَصُ فِيهِ الْأَبْصَارُ ﴿٤٢﴾

Meanwhile I wonder with fear if we will be accountable for watching such horror being done to our fellow Muslims…………in silence?
