Today in Taraweh……….the end of Surah Baqarah and the beginning of surah Al e Imaran has so many duas, the dua for victory over the oppressors, the dua for purification of the soul, the dua for protection (ayetal Kursi) the night dua (last two ayahs of Surah Baqarah) and the pleading to Allah not to turn our hearts away from our Deen after giving us the Deen (Surah Ale Imran first few lines).
Studying tafseer on these surahs, brings the context of the ayahs alive and lands us in Mecca by the side of The Messenger pbuh struggling as he did with the naysayers……….the major difference between him (pbuh) and me…………..? He had yaqeen that what he was doing was the absolute truth……whereas I am floundering in the waves of doubt and confusion as to where is the truth in ebadah and what is the truth in how much and what to do other than fard?
