Allah Subhanawataala sent the commandments about alcohol in three stages

The last stage is in one of the last Surahs revealed:

Allah Subhanawataala says and I paraphrase it:  “avoid it i.e. Do not even go near it! Drinking it or not is a moot point in view of this commandment.

O you who believe! INTOXICANTS (all kinds of alcoholic drinks), and gambling, and Al-Ansab , and Al-Azlam (arrows for seeking luck or decision) are an abomination of Shaitan’s (Satan) handiwork. So avoid (strictly all) that (abomination) in order that you may be successful.
(  سورة المائدة  , Al-Maeda, Chapter #5, Verse #90)

and RasullAllah in his Authentic Hadith says:

The Prophet (peace be upon him) invoked the curse of Allah on ten people in connection with wine:

1.       the wine-presser,

2.        the one who has it pressed,

3.        the one who drinks it,

4.        the one who conveys it,

5.        the one to whom it is conveyed,

6.        the one who serves it,

7.        the one who sells it,

8.        the one who benefits from the price paid for it,

9.        the one who buys it, and

10.     the one for whom it is bought.

Al-Tirmidhi Hadith 2776   Narrated by Anas ibnMalik

and:

The Prophet (peace be upon him)forbade the sitting at a cloth (table or gathering) on which wine is drunk.

Sunan of Abu- Dawood Hadith 3765 Narrated by Abdullah ibn Umar
