[37:75] Yusuf Ali
(In the days of old), Noah cried to Us, and We are the best to hear prayer.
[37:76] Yusuf Ali
And We delivered him and his people from the Great Calamity,
[37:77] Yusuf Ali
And made his progeny to endure (on this earth);
[37:78] Yusuf Ali
And We left (this blessing) for him among generations to come in later times:
[37:79] Yusuf Ali
“Peace and salutation to Noah among the nations!”
[37:80] Yusuf Ali
Thus indeed do we reward those who do right.
[37:81] Yusuf Ali
For he was one of our believing Servants.
[37:82] Yusuf Ali
Then the rest we overwhelmed in the Flood.
EXCERPTED FROM TAFSEER BY DR. FARHAT HASHMI
Surah Saffaat has hidden stories, sort of what you do when you open a post and it says CLICK HERE and you do and a whole world of information opens up.
The key thing that touched me was only when I imagined the plight of the Prophets…………and tried to put myself in their shoes. I found myself shaking with grief, shock, and paralyzed with fear.
So just imagine………..
Noah AS tries hard to convince people that there is only ONE God, and yet they do not listen even one of his own sons ridicules him. He persists on and on for years and year’s…………….and then he builds the ark and people including his son are bitingly sarcastic. Then is the epitome of sadness for a father…
He asks his sons to join him on the ark, all do, but one. He laughs and says if there is a flood of which there are no signs I will climb a mountain.
The flood comes and the waves are the size of a mountain and as the son on the mountain is fighting for his life, Noah watches him and asks Allah to save him and reminds him that this is his AL his family whom Allah has promised to protect. Allah’s answer is sobering……..
Your Al in the long run for whom you make dua and ask for salvation are your brothers and sisters in Deen. Not necessarily those from your blood if they are openly disobedient…….
SO Imagine if you can………….watching your disobedient son disobedient to Allah, drowning in the waves, screaming and there is nothing you can do…….
In real life when sons go astray that is the pain parents feel, so if you see a father whose son has gone astray, make dua for him because he is no Noah and I am confident his heart aches with the pain of a son that is drowning in FIRE……..
May Allah protect our children in everyway from those things that lure them onto the disobedience of Allah.
Dear Sister,
Assalamualikum
No i havent seen my son drown but I have seen him gradually sink deeper and deeper in to coma till he died in ICU. I wonder whose sin was it? I have been told no one but ownself is held for his sins. If it was my sin from past or the ones that ill do in the future, then why did he have to loose this life. Today his friends graduated as doctors. He wanted so much to be a doctor. He was admitted in a good university in USA but he chose to come back home to study medicine. He didnot survive one year. As his friends scatter in the domain of life with dreams in their eyes, my son rest in an obscure corner of an obscure graveyard.
I hope i ll be told the reason one day.
Regards
Anisur Rahman
