DUAS FOR A GRANDCHILD ……..

My thoughts and duas on hearing the blessed news from my daughter………..Sharing with all of you. Please make dua for the parents to be and all of us, JazaikAllah hu Khairan!

To my daughter and son in law:

It is a moment of humility, trepidation and extreme thanks to Allah Subhanawataaala that I accept the fact that a new soul is being sent to earth to become our grandchild.

I am deeply happy and yet careful in the extreme expressions of elation for we know that all children and grandchildren are an imanah from Allah.

I fondly think of our times of being in a state of expectation with our children and the joy they brought to us. Allah is our witness that we did everything in our power and knowledge to raise them right with the fear and love of Allah in our hearts.

One stayed and the other left us forever leaving an empty seat at our table and our hearts.

Though we wait with deep happiness, the arrival of this new guest, we must understand and accept that every human being is unique and every child comes with its own Qadar wal Qadaa and that is an essential part of our Deen.

We know that the prayer of the parent and perhaps the grandparent has no veil between it and Allah Subhanawataala.

I thus pray that He Subhanawataala give my daughter and son in law health, wisdom, ilm and energy to welcome parent hood and fulfill the requirements of Allah in raising their child with the heart of a Momin.

I pray for my grandchild the duas of the Prophets who had righteous children:

I pray Prophet Zachariah’s dua for a good grandchild:

In the Qur’an, Surah Al-‘Imran 3:38:

”O my Lord! Grant me from You, a good offspring. You are indeed the All-Hearer of invocation.”

Zachariah) (as) made this dua in his old age while his wife was barren. Allah (Subhanawataala) answered his call and gave him Yahyah (John)(as).

I pray Prophet Ibrahim’s dua for my grandchild:

”My Lord, grant me from the righteous ones.”

Surah Saffat

Allah accepted his dua and granted Prophet Ibrahim two beautiful and righteous sons: Ismael and Ishaq (as),

I pray the dua for our spouses, our children and grandchildren:

“Our Lord, grant us from among our spouses and offspring comfort to our eyes and make us an example for the righteous.”” 25:74:

I pray the dua of our father Adam and our mother Hawwa that they made when she was expecting:

They both invoked Allâh, their Lord (saying):

“If You give us a Sâlih (good in every aspect) child, we shall indeed be among the grateful.”

I pray for the sake of my own child who is going to carry a child:

O my Lord! Grant unto me from you a progeny that is pure. You are He that hears prayer!” (3: 38)

I pray that both of you are gifted from Allah with a benevolent and enjoyable parenthood and that your child in all his or her actions brings you true joy and peace.

Ameen, Allah humma Ameen.

With lots of love and duas

Granny/Nano to be …inshallah!:)
