HADITH ON ALCOHOL……

Have you ever wondered what to do at a dinner where they are going to serve wine. Well recently I was faced with this dilemma, I opened the door of the ballroom where the banquet was being set and knew that alcohol would be served and I was reminded of the Hadith below. I thought about what to do? Do  I miss the banquet or go?

I prayed hard for Allah to get me a non alcoholic table (otherwise I had decided I would get up and leave) and lo and behold the women who came and sat with me were all non alcohol folks, so I asked the waitress to remove the bottles of wine from our table.

I had the most amazing conversation with the physicians from New Orleans Minnesota and North Carolina, and we all left when the dancing began.

Allah Subhanawataala answers you and helps you when you WANT to obey Him.

You may want to share how you handle such situations in the west, at weddings, medical dinners, conferences etc?? Please comment!

Here is what our Prophet commanded us about ALCOHOL:

The Prophet (peace be upon him) forbade the sitting at a cloth (table or gathering) on which wine is drunk.

Sunan of Abu- Dawood Hadith 3765 Narrated by Abdullah ibn Umar

The Prophet (peace be upon him) invoked the curse of Allah on ten people in connection with wine:

1.       the wine-presser,

2.        the one who has it pressed,

3.        the one who drinks it,

4.        the one who conveys it,

5.        the one to whom it is conveyed,

6.        the one who serves it,

7.        the one who sells it,

8.        the one who benefits from the price paid for it,

9.        the one who buys it, and

10.     the one for whom it is bought.
