In awe and shock I watch the cold rage…….the waters of the Mississippi are pushing against the levee wall and much of it is finding its way beneath it onto the dry side as reported by the Corp of Engineers.

We can blame logistics as much as we like but we have to look at the larger dimension of global responsibility.

The American people have always been honorable in their interactions with each other and other nations until 2001 and since then the taste of Vendetta outstrips that of the hero of “The Count of Monte Cristo”.

The name of Americans and their friend the Israelis has become locally and globally synonymous with war, destruction of homes, families, people, farms, and olive groves.

Also with  chemically polluted water, and poisoning the earth with non-biodegradable, genetically altering herbicides and insecticides.

Deer try to navigate the rising floodwaters after the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers breeched the levee at Birds Point New Madrid Floodway near Cairo, Illinois, to relieve pressure from the rising Mississippi River, Tuesday, May 3, 2011. Human beings are described in the Quran and the Bible as “Stewards (Khalifa) of this earth”

The question comes up “When are we going to change our behavior and become “Stewards of this earth” and not only “stewards of my personal pocket”.

A lady sage once said,

“If you live long enough you will see the results of your actions, and witness the results of the actions of your ancestors”

When will become globally responsible? When will we understand that in our short life of 65 to maximum 90 years we cannot benefit from the hoarding of millions of dollars

We will still live and continue to sleep in one room of our house no matter how big it is. Our stomach size will remain seven inches and there is a finite amount of food that can be put in it.

All the other toys and power comes and goes, as my generation is witnessing as we speak, the outcome of the millionaires in the middle east.

Meanwhile Mississippi is rising with a vengeance against all and sundry both close and remote, and the results of its lashing out will affect all for a very long time………..
