And some part of the night awake for it, a largess for thee. It may be that thy Lord will raise thee to a praised estate. (79)

Hadith Bukhari: Volume 6, Book 60, Number 242:

Narrated Ibn Umar:

On the Day of Resurrection the people will fall on their knees and every nation will follow their prophet and they will say, “O so-and-so! Intercede (for us with Allah), “till (the right) intercession is given to the Prophet (Muhammad) and that will be the day when Allah will raise him into a station of praise and glory (i.e. Al-Maqam -al-Mahmud).

  2. Asalm o alikum,

Thank you for the reply to my earlier query. However my question was perhaps not clear. What I really want to know is that if a muslim prays tahajjud daily will Allah with his unlimited mercy grant him/her a praise worth status. I am not referring to intercession for i am sure that intercession will only be granted to our beloved Prophet Hazrat Mohammad Sallal Laho Alaihay Wasalam.

After reading this mail and the replies, I would like to ask Mrs. Farhat Hashmi, if should be kind enough to clarify the concept of wasila.

I have read in two places in the Quran Majeed.

“ woh khud dhoontay hain wasila kay kon sa banda kitna kareeb hai……“

    & “ tum dhoodo wasila…“

I regret that I can not point out the Ayats .

The reason why I am asking you this is that I have been told that what ever dua you make then you have to do it through a waseela. I can not bring myself to this. In my heart I always find it some kind of a shirk or bidat to ask a waseela for praying to Allah.

Can you please help and clarify this.

  3. assalamu alaikum.
This is to inform you i was disturbed as all my replies are deleted very often and in a hurry i forgot to type assalamu alaikum-
My post will be on the subject and this is right place to spread the truth from Quran and Hadith as you know in the south Asian countries many innovations have entered Islam and its pure unity of Allah taught by prophet salalahu alai hi wasalam-
Many generations passed away in delusion and my effort and worry is for the coming generations atleast they can be saved from false propaganda and innovations.
    thanks and regards

  4. In surah Mar-yam, while discussing about evil-ones and unbelievers,Allah(swt) announces in verse 87:
They will have no power of any intercession except him who has taken a covenant from the Rahman. (19:87)
Unfortunately, many religious leaders claim or suggest that they have the ability to intercede on behalf of the sinners.
Some times, these religious leaders do not openly claim such ability, but the followers or murids attribute such ability to their leaders.
The above verse clearly negates any such ability on the part of any leaders.
The so-called leaders cannot produce any proof that they have made a covenant with Allah. It is generally agreed that only Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) has such an agreement.
We are not exactly sure, if other prophets have any such covenant.
This is another strong verse that admonishes us that if we are seeking intercession by hiring a sheikh, then such attempt is not going to give us any benefit. It is highly likely that such sheikhs who earn livelihood by MARKETTING intercession may actually be in the most need of intercession.FOR MISGUIDING THE INNOCENT UMMAH OF PROPHET SALALAHU ALAI HI WASLALAM-
Some such sheikhs claim that Allah(swt) is pleased with them because of their prayers, but such claims can not be substantiated. As they are dfying the prophets MAKHAME MAHMOOD ON THE DAY OF THE JUDGEMENT-

    • Asalaaamoalaikum Brother Ali,
I think you are a muslim but you do not begin your notes with the greeting of one muslim to another. Why not?
I only publish those comments which are relevant to the post like this one. Any comments with bad language or derogatory terms for other people will not be published. Read my introduction under about and you will know the etiquette of this blog.
      JazaikAllah Khairan

  5. Walaikum asalaam wa rahmatullahi wa barakatahu!
This is a key question but begs common sense. So since I am not an Alima I have listened to Dr Farhat Hashmis tafseer on this again and written a post which will appear either tomorrow (Jan 28 or day after Jan 29 inshallah.
I pray that answers your question, if not perhaps you can do more research and enlighten us with your references, JazaikAllah hu Khairan!

  6. Asalam o alaikum,

Does this ayat apply to other people who offer tahajjud prayers. In other words will people who pray tahajjud also achieve largess and Allah SWT will raise him/her to a praised state.
