Today is Tariq’s Birthday, I have no words. My peace of mind and heart comes from turning to Dhikr asking Him, Subhanawtaala to protect me from the pain, and thank him for doing so and humbly accept with thanks all the naimah he gives me and verbally acknowledge the forgiveness he continues to award me for my mistakes in my efforts to make my way towards Him Subhanawataala.

So here is an excerpt from the Retreat on tazkiyah Nafs by Sheikh Mokhtar Magroubi, courtesy of: S A

Be in dhikr of Allah “katheera”.

Allah Subhnana wataaala says In surah al jumuah: (62:10) : Andwhen the prayer is finished, then disperse through the land and seek the bounty of Allah, and be in dhikr of Allah in plenty”

“Wala dhikrullahil Akbar,” Allah also says in the Quran – the dhikr of

Allah is better than any other activity. Allah enjoins upon us to be

in frequent dhikr, not only sometimes o occasionally. Everytime dhikr

is mentioned in the Quran, “katheera” is also mentioned. Of the

characteristics of the munafiqoon is that they are only in dhikr

“sometimes”, and that they stand lazy and in a hurry to leave when in

Disengage from concerns of dunya during dhikr. Even legitimate ones.

If changes inside you are positive, you are walking in the right

direction. If not, first you need to stop, before you can turn around and

walk in the right direction. (i.e., tawbah before restarting the

Beauty in the qalb = good akhlaaq. We need to graduate away from our bad traits.

Nothing is more worthy than being in dhikr.

The one who loves the encounter with Allah, Allah loves the encounter with Him.

Ultimately this deen is about akhlaq and ikhlas – otherwise what we do

is very superficial. Islam and iman are in one’s heart and require the

heart to be in surrender.

  2. Assalam Alaikum…

    Allah says:

“Verily, I have created man in toil (struggle).” (Quran 90:4)This is the nature of our lives; we are in toil and struggle, ups and downs, times of difficulties and times of ease.

It is a life full of tests as God says:“And certainly, We shall test you with something of fear, hunger, loss of wealth, lives and fruits, but give glad tidings to the people with patience.” (Quran 2:155)

May Allah reward you for your patience…
