In the end We fulfilled to them Our promise, and We saved them and those whom We pleased, but We destroyed those who transgressed beyond bounds. (9)

Tafseer by Dr. Farhat Hashmi

Transgression beyond bounds is also called Dhulm.

Definition of Dhulm: Transgressing the rights of someone. Shirk is Dhulm and is transgressing the rights of Allah

Prophet Muhammad pbuh said:

“ The one who takes one hand span of land from another by force and or by transgression, on the Day of Judgment Allah Subhanawataala will put seven pieces of land as a taoq (a board or chain) around his neck”

Prophet Muhammad pbuh said:

Do not do Dhulm; do not take anything of another without his or her goodwill.

Why does one become Dhalim?

Many times it is due to ignorance (Ghafala) of the Day of Judgement.

End Tafseer
