WHAT IS IN THE BOOK? 18:1-2

Asmaa al Husan: The Giver of Life and The Taker of Life (Balance)

Praise be to Allah Who hath revealed the Scripture unto His slave, and hath not placed therein any crookedness, (1) (But hath made it) straight, to give warning of stern punishment from Him, and to bring unto the believers who do good works the news that theirs will be a fair reward, (2)

TAFSEER BY DR. FARHAT HASHMI (translated from Urdu)

Allah Subhanawataala has honored him (Prophet Muhammad pbuh) with His book and by taking him to the far away mosque (Al Aqsa)

Book means “collection” of a lot of important things.

He (Subhanawataala) did not allow any deviation in any level of meaning neither superficially nor intrinsically in the Quran.

Surah Zumar: 28: A Lecture in Arabic, containing no crookedness, that haply they may ward off (evil).

Qayimmah: This Quran is straight and in the middle without extremes, completely balanced and also puts others on the straight path and corrects the deficiencies of other past scriptures and is just.

Surah Baiyannah 1-3: Those who disbelieve among the People of the Scripture and the idolaters could not have left off (erring) till the clear proof came unto them, (1) A messenger from Allah, reading purified pages (2) Containing correct scriptures. (3)

Surah Al Isra 9 Lo! This Qur’an guideth unto that which is straightest, and giveth tidings unto the believers who do good works that theirs will be a great reward. (9)

This is a book that is straight in its message and also puts people in on the straight path.

Surah Maeda 84:  How should we not believe in Allah and that which hath come unto us of the Truth. And (how should we not) hope that our Lord will bring us in along with righteous folk?

Those things that were changed or were hidden this book has revealed the truth.

This is a Warner (the book and the Prophet) for people about the severe punishment in the Hereafter.

And it brings good news (the effect of which can be seen visibly on the faces and demeanor of the person getting the news) to the Believers (Mominoon).

La illa ha illal lah (Tawheed is the key to jannah)

This news is for those believers who do good deeds

Surah Maryam: 97: So have We made the (Qur’an) easy in thine own tongue, that with it thou mayest give Glad Tidings to the righteous and warnings to people given to contention. (97)

This Quran has been sent in simple language.

The balance mentioned above is that on one hand there is mention of the Warner and then of the reward.

Ikhlaas the opposite of which is shirk and Nifaaq (riyakari)

The momineen must be sincere and follow the Prophet (sunnah) for the opposite of Sunnah is bidah

Definition of Amal Saleha: is in which there is no Shirk or Bidah (When an action is cleansed of these two).

There is Ajr for them (Amal gets Ajr)

Action/work =Ajr which is reward or payment

Yunus:

Hasanaat: best, beautiful. Action is needed and action has to be good.

Ajran Hasana is jannah

Jannah: No Self knows what Allah has saved for us in Jannah.

Makafeeni abada: These people with Amal e Salaeha will be there forever without any difficulty or boredom.

End Tafseer
