TAWHEED:The Three branches of Tawheed part II

Excerpted from a Halaqa on Tawheed by Dr. Haifa Younis by Anon writer

TAWHEED UR RUBOOBIYYAH : هُوَ اللَّهُ الَّذِي لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا هُوَ : ALLAH is He save whom there is no deity

TAWHEED UL ULOOHIYYAH : يُسَبِّحُ لَهُ مَا فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ : All that is in the heavens and on earth extols His limitless glory

TAWHEED UL ASMAA’WA SIFAAT :

هُوَ الْمَلِكُ الْقُدُّوسُ السَّلَامُ الْمُؤْمِنُ الْمُهَيْمِنُ الْعَزِيزُ الْجَبَّارُ الْمُتَكَبِّر : the Sovereign Supreme, the Holy, the One with whom all salvation rests, the Giver of Faith, the One who determines what is true and false, the Almighty, the One who subdues wrong and restores right, the One to whom all greatness belongs

الْخَالِقُ الْبَارِئُ الْمُصَوِّرُ لَهُ الْأَسْمَاء الْحُسْنَى : the Creator, the Maker who shapes all forms and appearances! His [alone] are the attributes of perfection

وَهُوَ الْعَزِيزُ الْحَكِيمُ : for He alone is almighty, truly wise!

DEFINITION / SUMMARY/ QURANIC AYAAT OF THE THREE BRANCHES OF TAWHEED :

TAWHEED UR RUBOOBIYYAH :

DEFINITION : WHAT DOES IT MEAN WHEN I SAY ALLAH IS MY RABB ?

(1)  He,swt is the One who created me from non existence. He,swt is the One who prepared me for the purpose of my creation. He,swt is the One who gave me continuously the means to sustain Life/Living

(2)  I Believe that Allah, swt ALONE  takes care of all my affairs and facilitates them as He wishes.

(3)  I work hard and strive in good – BUT , I am certain that there is no success by MY power or strength – ONLY HE MAKES ME DO !!!

(4)  I use every halal means provided by Him,swt to achieve success in dunyaa and akhirah, BUT my reliance is on HIM,swt ALONE – not the means.

Example : HIDAYA AND TAQWA are from Him, swt not from anything/one else

47:17 But to those who receive Guidance, He increases the (light of) Guidance, and bestows on them their Piety and Restraint (from evil).

(5)  Journey of Tawheed : I learn, I repent, I rectify, I learn somemore, I repent more, I fail, I repent, I reorient, I continue biznillah in this process till I die.

TAWHEED UL ULOOHIYYAH :

DEFINITION : WHAT DOES IT MEAN WHEN I SAY ALLAH SWT IS MY ILAH ?

(1)  ALLAH SWT IS THE ONLY ONE THAT I LOVE THE MOST, THAT I GLORIFY ABOVE ALL AND THAT MY HEART IS FIRMLY ATTACHED TO.

(2)  Allah swt is my ONLY MA’BUUD –  the ONLY ONE – I completely and absolutely love, I Rely on, I fear to displease, I strive to please, I obey unhesitatingly, I submit unconditionally, I surrender happily. WHY ? Because of my Tawheed ur Ruboobiyyah – He created me, He prepares me and for me, He continuously provides for me.

(3)  All my focus, resolve, energies are only towards Him, swt and seeking Him, swt.

  • 6:162 Say: “Behold, my prayer, and (all] my acts of worship, and my living and my dying are for ALLAH [alone], the Sustainer of all the worlds,

  • 6:163 in whose divinity none has a share: for thus have I been bidden-and I shall [always] be foremost among those who surrender themselves unto Him.”

(4)  NO MATTER WHICH STATE HE, SWT PLACES ME IN – success or defeat, elevation or Humiliation – my Heart sees, obeys, loves, fears and calls only on Him, swt.

Example : The heart of Rasul Allah, sallaAllahu alayhi wa sallim during Fath Mecca – the pinnacle of human achievement , yet his heart calls out in all humility and destitution  to his Rabb, swt  – SUBHAANALLAH !

“Allaahumma innaka tasma‘u kalaamee, wa taraa makaanee, wa ta‘lamu sirree wa ‘alaaniyatee, wa laa yakhfaa ‘alayka shay’un min ’amree, wa ’anal-baa’isu al-faqeer, wal-mustaagheethu al-mustajeer, wal-wajilu al-mushfiqu al-muqiru al-mu‘tarifu ilayka bi-dhambih.  As’aluka mas’alata al-miskeen, wa’abtahilu ilayka ibtihaal al-mudhnibi idh-dhaleel, wa ad‘ooka du‘aa’ al-khaa’ifu ad-dareer, du‘aa’a man khada‘at laka raqabatuhu, wa dhalla laka jismuhu, wa raghama laka anfuh.

“Ô Allaah, You hear my words, and You see my place. You know my secret and manifest. Nothing of me is hidden from You. I am the miserable, poor one appealing for protection. I am the frightened, pitiful one acknowledging and confessing to You his sins. I beg You the begging of a needy one and I implore you the imploring of a humiliated sinful one. And I pray to you the prayer of the ailing fearful one, a prayer of one whose neck has bowed to You, whose tears of pain have flooded his eyes, whose body has in servitude humbled itself to you and whose pride has been lowered to the ground for you. Ô Allaah, let not my share in Your prayer be misery, and be compassionate to me, Ô Most-Responsive of those who are asked, and Ô Most-Giving of those who give.”

TAWHEED UL ASMAA’ WA SIFAAT :

DEFINITION : I FIRMLY BELIEVE THAT ONLY ALLAH, swt IS PERFECT IN ALL HIS ATTRIBUTES AND ALL HIS ATTRIBUTES ARE BEAUTIFUL.

Version:1.0 StartHTML:0000000189 EndHTML:0000007052 StartFragment:0000003312 EndFragment:0000007016 SourceURL:file://localhost/Users/mom/Desktop/Tawheed%20-%20Summary%20Class%204.doc

7:180 The most beautiful names belong to Allah. so call on him by them; but shun such men as use profanity in his names: for what they do, they will soon be requited.

17:110 Say: “Call upon Allah, or call upon Rahman: by whatever name ye call upon Him, (it is well): for to Him belong the Most Beautiful Names. Neither speak thy Prayer aloud, nor speak it in a low tone, but seek a middle course between.”

20:8 Allah. there is no god but He! To Him belong the most Beautiful Names.
