Hadith: Temptations and trials are exhibited to the heart one by one. The one who responds to any one of them will cause a black spot on the heart and the one who rejects the temptation will have a white spot on his heart. When temptations are succumbed to constantly the heart is covered with blackness.

Therefore in my journey to Allah Subhanwataala, I have to obey Allah Him, or else obstacles are placed in my heart in reaching Him.

What are these Fitan – trials?

  • Opportunity to obey Allah Subhanawataala
  • Opportunity to disobey Allah Subhanwataala
  • People around me

People respond to these trials fall into three groups:

Those who use every opportunity to obey Allah Subhanwataala and are far ahead in the caravan of those traveling to Him.

· 9:100 And as for the first and foremost of those who have forsaken the domain of evil and of those who have sheltered and succored the Faith, as well as those who follow them in [the way of] righteousness – God is well-pleased with them, and well–pleased are they with Him. And for them has He readied gardens, through which running waters flow, therein to abide beyond the count of time: this is the triumph supreme

2. Hypocrites –  who  (مَرَدُواْ عَلَى النِّفَاUse every opportunity to disobey Allah Subhnawataala with– heart, word and deed.

· 9:101 But among the bedouin who dwell around you there are hypocrites; and among the people of the [Prophet’s] City  [too] there are such as have grown insolent in [their] hypocrisy. Thou dost not [always] know them, [O Muhammad – but] We know them. We shall cause them to suffer doubly [in this world]; and then they will be given over to awesome suffering [in the life to come].

Those who acknowledge their misdeeds Our Eeman and good deeds fluctuate and humbly acknowledging my sins and seeking repentance – inshahAllah He,swt will accept my repentance

· 9:102 And [there are] others  – [people who] have become conscious of their sinning after having done righteous deeds side by side with evil ones; [and] it may well be that God will accept their repentance: for, verily, God is much-forgiving, a dispenser’ of grace

  • SPECIFICALLY – Sins have consequences. If I am to progress in seeking ‘ilm – I need to respond to every call of Allah Subhanawataala and His Rasul, s.a

1. The site of response is the Qalb and it emphasizes the importance of the state of our hearts in this Deen – Purity of our hearts, Eemaan (Faith) and Good deeds are all-important

2.  The states of our hearts are constantly changing – i.e. I NEED TO LEARN AND TEACH MYSELF ABOUT MY HEART AND ITS STATES

  • People around me

    · 8:40 and if they turn away [from righteousness], know that God is your Lord Supreme: [and] how excellent is this Lord Supreme, and how excellent this Giver of Succor! –

REMINDERS: Believe this with certainty in your heart that:

    1. Allah Subhanawataala is your patron and protector in all your good strivings

    2. Then He describes Himself as what an excellent Protector and Guardian He is and what an excellent Helper He is.

3.Since it is an order to believe… To believe is obligatory (Wajib)

    4. No matter who or what is against me, He, Subhanawataala is always with me, in my struggle to obey Him.

5.I need to be proud that He Subhanawataala is my Mawla and proud to be part of this Deen – He, Subhanawataala chose me!!!

    · 2:196 AND PERFORM the pilgrimage and the pious visit [to Mecca] in honour of God; and if you are held back, give instead whatever offering you can easily afford. And do not shave your heads until the offering has been sacrificed; but he from among you who is ill or suffers from an ailment of the head shall redeem himself by fasting, or alms, or [any other] act of worship. And if you are hale and secure, then he who takes advantage of a pious visit before the [time of] pilgrimage shall give whatever offering he can easily afford; whereas he who cannot afford it shall fast for three days during the pilgrimage and for seven days after your return: that is, ten full [days]. All this relates to him who does not live near the Inviolable House of Worship. And remain conscious of God, and know that God is severe in retribution.

    • In all acts of ‘ibaadah and daily life in my journey to Rabbi, I need to be mindful of Allah, Subhanawataala in thought, word and deed of heart and body!!!
    • WHY? – Allah Subhanawataala is severe in retribution
    • In the previous Ayah, Allah Subhanawataala draws us to Him, by encouraging us to struggle in obedience as He is our most excellent Mawlaa (close protector and patron) and Helper – Targheeb
    • In this Ayah, Allah, Subhanawataala draws us to his closeness and obedience by emphasizing that He is also Severe in retribution, if I consciously choose to disobey Him, Subhanawataala – Tarheeb.

    ·  2:194 Fight during the sacred months if you are attacked: for a violation of sanctity is [subject to the law of] just retribution. Thus, if anyone commits aggression against you, attack him just as he has attacked you – but remain conscious of God, and know that God is with those who are conscious of Him.

    • Why should I be a muttaqi (Taqwa – God consciousness that translates into righteous action)??? Because when I have Taqwa in my heart, Allah Subhanawataala is always with me (Ma’iah of Allah Subhanawataala) –

    • The most powerful inducer for my weak heart in struggling to have Taqwa is this knowledge – He, Subhanawataala is with me!!! With me through all my fears and hopes and longing for Him and pain and tears and smiles – As long as I work on my Taqwa, He promises He is with me in this uphill struggle!!!

    • Targeeb (encourage me to obedience) and Tarheeb (drive me away from disobedience).
    • ……………………………………………………………………………………………………………………

    ·  2:231 And so, when you divorce women and they are about to reach the end of their waiting-term, then either retain them in a fair manner or let them go in a fair manner. But do not retain them against their will in order to hurt [them]: for he who does so sins indeed against himself. And do not take [these] messages of God in a frivolous spirit; and remember the blessings with which God has graced you, and all the revelation and the wisdom which He has bestowed on you from on high in order to admonish you thereby; and remain conscious of God, and know that God has full knowledge of everything.

    • When there is an internal battle between my Deen and my desires and in my weakness my desires are winning, I need to remember: Do not take the Ayaat of the Qura’an – (Dos and Donts) as a joke i.e. Take it to mind and heart and struggle to live it

    • What will help me to get up to struggle every time my desires are winning and knocking me down? I need to remember: Remember all the blessings on you – life, faith, health – mental, physical and spiritual, opportunity to learn this ‘ilm and practice it in safety, food, family, shelter….
    • What helps me continue in this path of ‘ilm and ‘amal despite multiple failures, stumbling and sliding back? I need to remember: Have Taqwa of Allah, Subhanawataala, for Indeed He knows everything – Knows me and my obstacles – inside me and outside me, He alone knows me through every silent struggle, through every uphill road and valley – my journey becomes Alhamdulillah easier!!

    • DU’A ! DU’A! DU’A !

    end all parts.

    2. Asalaam o ALaikum Br Layluf/Ali,
After reading your last post (deleted) I completely understand why all previous bloggers have deleted your posts.

Perhaps you need to take a break and concentrate on yourself, your deen, your amaal and hold off on preaching to others.

When you invite someone to your house or your Deen you should have something to offer, if your house is empty or your Deen is empty of positive knowledge at least fill it with Ikhlaas, (sincerity), humility and compassion.
I pray that I have not offended you, but this is my sincere advice to you: Remain silent untill you have something positive to offer in a positive manner.

May Allah Subhanawataala protect us from making errors of the tongue and pen that will be held against us on the Day of judgment.

      JazaikAllah Khair.

    3. Walaikum asalaam wa rahmatullah e wa barakatahu brother layluf:
I have deleted some of your comments that pertained to advertising your sect.
It was not intended to offend you, however the comments here should be pertaining to the post content and not advertisement of your sect or other websites.
Language on this blog is to be polite and in alignment with the teachings about “how to communicate” of our Prophet Muhammad pbuh , if you are a muslim, and if you are a non muslim then just plain polite words will suffice.
I will expect you and all muslim readers to follow the sunnah when addressing others in this blog, if you are not familiar with the sunnah of communication, please let me know and I will post it.
Thus even if you differ in your opinion from what is expressed in the post, the above guidelines stand.
      JazaikAllah Khair!

PS: I understand that the source of the calligraphy of the ayah of the Quran on this post is not in alignment with your sect. However look at the ayah and not at the group that made it, if it bothers you.

If your sect has done some beautiful calligraphy of the Quran please let me know and I will be glad to use it on the blog as appropriate.

This is an imperfect world, thus the idea is that you should be able to pick out the pearls of the Quran no matter where they are. Jazaik Allah Khair.
