ABOUT RACISM: MARTIN LUTHER KING JR & MALCOLM X

The first act of racism since the creation of man was committed by Shaitan (iblis). When Allah Subhanawataala created Adam, and asked the angels and iblis to bow before him, Iblis refused.
Here is his reasoning as narrated in the Quran:

002.034: And behold, We said to the angels: “Bow down to Adam” and they bowed down. Not so Iblis: he refused and was haughty: He was of those who reject Faith.

007.011
: It is We Who created you and gave you shape; then We bade the angels prostrate to Adam, and they prostrated; not so Iblis; He refused to be of those who prostrate.

007.012: (Allah) said: “What prevented thee from prostrating when I commanded thee?” He said: “I am better than he: Thou didst create me from fire, and him from clay.”

007.013
: (Allah) said: “Get thee down from this: it is not for thee to be arrogant here: get out, for thou art of the meanest (of creatures).”

Iblis’s vow regarding humans:

015.039:
(Iblis) said: “O my Lord! Because Thou hast put me in the wrong, I will make (wrong) fair-seeming to them on the earth, and I will put them all in the wrong, –
Allah’s response:
015.042: “For over My servants no authority shalt thou have, except such as put themselves in the wrong and follow thee.”

ARROGANCE>RACISM=DISOBEDIENCE TO GOD
The arrogance of Iblis was based on the perception that since he was made of fire and man of clay, he was superior to man. Thus the first act of disobedience to God and was based on “racism”
While searching Martin Luther King’s heritage and message, I came across another black American/African American man whose search for the Siraat-e Mustaqeem, was convoluted, but his heart eventually guided him to the true essence of Islam, and at Hajj his search for truth and guidance was realized and his anger laid to rest.
Here is what Malcolm X says on return from Hajj:
“My pilgrimage broadened my scope. It blessed me with a new insight. In two weeks in the Holy Land, I saw what I never had seen in thirty-nine years here in America. I saw all races, all colors, –blue-eyed blonds to black skinned Africans-in true brotherhood! In unity! Living as one! Worshipping as one! No segregationists-no liberals; they would not have known how to interpret the meaning of those words…”
